Can anyone register an account?
Yes! Futunk was designed so that every runner can create an account to have a profile and statistics.
Registrations currently require an invite code, because Futunk has not yet reached its Public Beta release phase.
Must I manually upload activities?
Currently, unfortunately yes. Integration with APIs such as Garmin's Activity API is a work in progress.
What file formats does Futunk support?
Futunk currently supports the following file formats for uploading activities:
- .tcx (Polar Flow, Garmin Connect)
- .fit (Garmin)
What countries do you support?
Futunk is available worldwide, except for one feature: automatically detecting the city/municipality (and where available boroughs) of activities. An accurate match requires a large dataset. For performance reasons, this feature is currently only available in Europe and Japan.
To be more precise, the feature is enabled for the following countries:
Because Futunk matches the closest known location, activities in other countries will currently incorrecly show the nearest municipality of the listed countries. When new countries are added to the list, activities will be reprocessed to resolve this.
Futunk uses a dataset from OpenStreetMap, so the reliability of this feature still depends on how well supported countries are mapped.
How is Futunk pronounced?
Futunk is pronounced [ˈfutuŋk]. Or, for those of us who aren't experts on
the phonetic alphabet: foo-toon-k
